Released in 1977, Forse le Lucciole non si Amano Più by Locanda delle Fate stands as one of the ultimate sunset statements of the classic Italian Progressive Rock (RPI) era. Arriving long after the early-70s peaks of giants like PFM and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, this debut album captures a highly refined, deeply romantic, and meticulously arranged symphonic rock sound. Instead of the aggressive, erratic avant-garde experiments of earlier bands, Locanda delle Fate delivered a lush, melodic masterpiece driven by a unique seven-piece lineup.
Italian progressive rock or Rock Progressivo Italiano (RPI), in the late 1960s and 1970s produced some of the best albums of the era, blending UK-American prog and psych influences with Italian classical traditions.
