Lonnie Liston Smith | Live! | Album

Live! by keyboardist Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes is widely celebrated as a high-energy milestone in 1970s jazz-funk. Recorded over three nights in May 1977 at Smucker’s Cabaret in Brooklyn and produced by Bob Thiele, the album is Smith's only live release of the decade. It captures a transitional sweet spot, documenting the band's peak Flying Dutchman-era catalog right before Smith shifted toward more commercial, disco-tinged R&B structures.
