Juliana Prochet aka Melody's Echo Chamber is a French psychedelic-pop artist born 1987 in Puyricard, Provence-Alpes-C么te d'Azur, France. Prochet crafts sweet and swirling psych pop that brings in elements of trippy prog and lightly spooky folk. Working in collaborations with musicians from Tame Impala (on 2012's self-titled album) and Dungen (on 2018's Bon Voyage and 2022's Emotional Eternal), she crafts albums that meld her bewitching melodies to music that truly meets the criteria to be deemed psychedelic. Prochet dreamed up the Melody's Echo Chamber project when her previous band, My Bee's Garden, supported Tame Impala on their European tour in 2010. Prochet then collaborated with Kevin Parker to produce her new solo material as Melody's Echo Chamber. The material was recorded in Parker's makeshift studio in Perth, Australia and Prochet's grandmother's seaside home in the south of France. The self-titled debut album was released under Fat Possum Records in 2012, peaking at 61 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart. Q Magazine rated the album 8/10, calling it an "intoxicating listen that's well worth experiencing for yourself." Prochet has since gone on to release four MEC studio albums, all of which are recommended: Melody's Echo Chamber (2012), Bon Voyage (2018), Emotional Eternal (2022), and Unclouded (2025). Melody Prochet was born and raised in Puyricard. She had a musical upbringing, learning to play the piano and the viola at a young age, the latter of which she says influenced her "orchestral" approach to songwriting. Early in Puchet's career, under the name Melody Van Kappers, she formed The Narcoleptic Dancers in 2010 with Dutch musician Anton Louis Jr. They released their only album Never Sleep in 2011. Prochet and Louis claimed to the press that they were half-siblings born to a Dutch professional soccer player named Johnny Van Kappers, and that they discovered a shared passion for music after meeting at their father's funeral in the early 2000s. However the validity of these statements is unclear, as there appears to be no record of Johnny Van Kappers' existence or soccer career.
