Morbid Angel | Covenant | Album
Regular price
Morbid Angel’s 1993 landmark release, Covenant, is one of the most critical turning points in extreme metal history. As the first death metal album ever released on a major label (Giant/Warner Bros.), it proved to the music industry that extreme music could achieve commercial viability without compromising its core hostility, occult themes, or structural complexity. Driven by a monumental production job by legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen (famed for his work on Metallica’s Master of Puppets), Covenant went on to sell over 150,000 copies in the US alone, making it the defining commercial peak of 90s death metal.
