Oktubre (1986), the second album by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, stands as a towering work of Latin American rock history. Released just three years after the fall of Argentina's brutal military dictatorship, this album masterfully captures the paranoid, drug-fueled, and anxious zeitgeist of an urban society recovering from trauma. It is a flawless blend of bleak post-punk, nocturnal new wave, and raw rock energy that remains a cultural blueprint decades later.
