Pete Brown & Piblokto! "Thousands on a Raft"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Alternative Fox, US, 2019, FOX020, 5060672883207, Reissue, Gatefold Sleeve

Released in 1970 on EMI’s progressive imprint Harvest, Thousands On A Raft is the second and final studio album by Pete Brown & Piblokto!, capturing the legendary British lyricist at the peak of his underground jazz-rock experimentation. Following his sudden ejection from his previous band, The Battered Ornaments, Brown formed Piblokto! as a tighter, more cohesive vehicle for his surreal poetry and avant-garde instincts. Co-written with Scottish guitarist Jim Mullen, the album bridges the gap between heavy psychedelic blues, early progressive rock, and improvisational jazz.
