A Secret Wish is the 1985 debut studio album by the German synth-pop band Propaganda. Released on ZTT Records and produced by Stephen Lipson (under the supervision of Trevor Horn), the album is celebrated as a landmark of 1980s electronic and avant-pop music. The album is known for its cinematic production and inclusion of the band's most famous singles: "Dr. Mabuse": The band's 1984 debut single, inspired by Fritz Lang's fictional criminal mastermind. "Duel": Their highest-charting UK single, reaching number 21 in 1985. "p:Machinery": A hit across Europe, famously used in an episode of Miami Vice. "Dream Within a Dream": An atmospheric opening track featuring a recitation of Edgar Allan Poe's poem.
