Originally composed by pianist Rachel Grimes as the score for a theatrical dance production about the tragic, controversial life of Austrian Expressionist painter Egon Schiele, the album strips away the grand arrangements of the band's other records. Instead, it relies almost entirely on a deeply intimate trio: Rachel Grimes on piano, Christian Frederickson on viola, and Wendy Doyle on cello.
