"MacArthur Park" is a 1968 baroque pop song recorded by Irish actor Richard Harris and written by Jimmy Webb. Notable for its unusual seven-minute length and surreal imagery, it reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remains a touchstone of 1960s experimental pop. It became a major hit and won a Grammy for Best Arrangement, notable for its complex structure, poetic lyrics about a failed relationship (inspired by Webb's time in Los Angeles' MacArthur Park), and Harris's unique delivery, including famously mispronouncing the title.
