Robin Williamson | Just Like the River and Other Songs with Guitar | Album

Released in December 2008 by the Catalan label Quadrant Records, Just Like the River and Other Songs with Guitar marks a profound, stripped-down milestone in the solo discography of Robin Williamson. Moving away from the complex, multi-instrumental arrangements of his previous ECM records and the whimsical psych-folk of his days with The Incredible String Band, this album represents a deliberate, raw return to simplicity. Centred around just his voice, acoustic guitar, and sparse instrumentation, the record stands out as one of Williamson's most intimate, vulnerable, and meditative offerings.
