Sounds of Silence is the second studio album by the American folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, released on 17 January 1966. The album was recorded in 1965 and produced by Tom Wilson. It was titled to capitalise on the massive success of the remixed electric version of the song "The Sound of Silence," which had reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier that year.
