Released in August 1994 via Candlelight Records, Lamentations is the debut studio album by British epic doom metal outfit Solstice. Masterminded by guitarist Richard M. Walker, the record stands as a landmark release for purists of the subgenre, blending the colossal weight of Black Sabbath and Candlemass with a distinct, overcast English folk atmosphere.
