Solstice | New Dark Age | Album

Released on 7 December 1998 by Misanthropy Records, New Dark Age by English epic doom metal stalwarts Solstice is widely regarded as a monolithic masterpiece of the genre. Taking a stark departure from the sorrowful, traditional heavy doom of their 1994 debut Lamentations, the album introduces intense English folk influences, soaring twin-guitar leads, and a triumphant, medieval atmosphere.
