Strawbs "From The Witchwood"

CD (NM) - Near Mint, A&M, Europe, 1998, 540 939-2, 731454093927, Remastered, Bonus Tracks, Jewel Case, Booklet Insert

Released in 1971, From the Witchwood is widely regarded as the definitive transition point for Strawbs, marking their evolution from a traditional acoustic folk outfit into a premier Progressive Folk band. Produced by Tony Visconti, the album is most notable for being the final studio appearance of keyboardist Rick Wakeman before he joined Yes. The album blends "pastoral" English folk with early progressive rock ambitions, using an eclectic range of instruments including banjo, sitar, dulcimer, harpsichord, and Rick Wakeman's early experiments with the Moog and Mellotron.
