The Blackbyrds | Flying Start | Album
Regular price
Flying Start, released on 2 November 1974 by Fantasy Records, is the second studio album by the American jazz-funk outfit The Blackbyrds. Formed by jazz legend and Howard University professor Donald Byrd, the young ensemble quickly stepped out from their mentor's shadow with this release, establishing a distinct identity that bridges the gap between sophisticated jazz fusion, dance-floor funk, and proto-disco.
