The Bulgarian Voices Angelite | Fly, Fly My Sadness | Album

Fly, Fly My Sadness (1996) is a spellbinding avant-folk collaboration that brings together the ethereal, high-pitched harmonies of the female choir The Bulgarian Voices Angelite and the deep, earth-rattling throat singing of Tuvan male ensemble Huun-Huur-Tu. Masterminded and composed by Soviet-Norwegian jazz musician Mikhail Alperin alongside Russian folk multi-instrumentalist Sergey Starostin, the album serves as a musical reunion for two cultures whose shared roots trace back to Central Asia over a millennium ago.
