Released in March 1992, Priest=Aura by Australian alternative rock icons The Church is widely considered one of the band’s finest works. Stepping entirely away from the radio-friendly jangle pop of their 1988 hit "Under the Milky Way", the album is a 14-track monument to gothic rock, neo-psychedelia, and dream pop. Frontman Steve Kilbey has famously named it the group's "undisputed masterpiece", as it trade standard pop hooks for expansive, opiate-drenched musical textures, lush soundscapes, and deeply cryptic lyricism.
