The Church’s 1982 self-titled release is essentially an overseas adaptation of their 1981 Australian debut, Of Skins and Heart. It established the band's signature "Paisley Underground" jangle, pairing Steve Kilbey’s punk-inflected vocals with chiming Rickenbacker guitars to create a lush, atmospheric post-punk sound.
