Our Music Is Red – With Purple Flashes is a quintessential retrospective of The Creation, one of the most brilliant, visually explosive, and criminally underrated British mod-psych bands of the 1960s. Originally released as a comprehensive 24-track compilation in 1998, the album functions as a masterclass in "freakbeat"—the raw, high-voltage bridge connecting standard rhythm & blues to full-blown psychedelic garage rock. The title itself stems from a legendary quote by the band's visionary guitarist, Eddie Phillips, perfectly encapsulating their vivid, jagged, and kinetic sonic palette.
