Released on June 22, 1993, Transmissions From the Satellite Heart is the pivotal sixth studio album by American alternative rock band The Flaming Lips. Serving as the official launching pad for their "golden era," the record bridges the gap between their chaotic 1980s noise-rock origins and the lush, symphonic pop masterpieces that arrived later in their career. Fueled by a revamped lineup featuring legendary drummer Steven Drozd and visionary guitarist Ronald Jones, the album expertly weaponises fuzzy distortion against a newfound backdrop of pure pop hooks.
