The Shadow Ring | Lindus | Album
Lindus (2001) is often cited as a major turning point in the discography of the British avant-garde trio The Shadow Ring. Moving away from the "factitious bandness" and "kitchen sink percussion" of their earlier records, this album finds Graham Lambkin, Darren Harris, and Tim Goss venturing into more atmospheric, minimalist territory. Released on the Swill Radio label, Lindus represents a shift toward "long drones and slowed-down vocals". While their earlier work was rooted in a sort of "alienated avant-pop" and "nautical DIY noise", Lindus is more sparse and brooding.
