Suddenly!, the third studio album by Melbourne new wave outfit The Sports, arrived in March 1980 as the highly anticipated follow-up to their breakthrough record, Don't Throw Stones. Recorded at Eden Studios in London with producer Peter Solley, the album ultimately peaked at number 13 on the Australian Kent Music Report. While it captures a band radiating sheer sonic confidence and high-octane energy, it stands as a slightly uneven pop-rock artifact that divides critics on whether its songwriting matches its relentless tempo.

The Sports' 1980 album Suddenly! was originally released in Australia on the Mushroom label with a die-cut sleeve comprising a series of slits which showed alternate images when the printed inner sleeve was raised and lowered.
