The Zebras’ 2004 self-titled debut album is a classic of Australian indie-pop, defined by its sunny, melodic guitar textures and breezy jangle-pop sensibilities. Released via the twee-revivalist imprint Lost & Lonesome Recording Co, the record introduced the band's signature blend of bittersweet songwriting and analogue-obsessed aesthetics. Upon its release, Rolling Stone praised the record as "one of the strongest local debuts" of the year.
