Velvet Underground | Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground Featuring Nico (Comp.) | Album

Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground Featuring Nico is a 1971 compilation album that masterfully bridges the raw, transgressive energy of alternative rock's originators with the avant-garde pop art scene of 1960s New York. Released as a double-LP anthology by MGM Records, this compilation is both an essential retrospective and a brilliant introduction to the band's foundational years under the aesthetic guidance of Andy Warhol.

Artwork designed by Andy Warhol. As a graphic artist Warhol began designing album covers in the 1950s for Jazz discs on Blue Note Records before he bacame famous. Warhol also designed the iconic banana cover for VU's debut album.
