Flash as a Rat (1981) is the only full-length studio album by the short-lived Australian new wave band Ward 13. Released through EMI/Survival Records, the album marked a significant stylistic evolution for the band. While their earlier work was characterized as brash, 1960s-influenced rock and roll, Flash as a Rat embraced the emerging new wave sound of the early 1980s. The standout track, "See Venice and Die," became a minor hit, charting on the Sydney radio circuits and establishing the band as a notable part of the city's pub rock scene
