Johnnie Ray | Johnnie Ray Sings The Big Beat | Album

Released in February 1957 on Columbia Records, The Big Beat is a definitive, high-energy showcase of Johnnie Ray's transition from traditional pop to the precursor rhythms of early rock and roll. Affectionately dubbed "Mr. Emotion," Ray infuses this 12-track collection with his trademark vocal drama, a feat made all the more stunning given that the vocalist was clinically deaf.
